Wendy’s [food service consultancy] expertise was crucial in establishing the coffee shop in the main entrance of the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry. The venture was a collaboration between the hospital and the League of Friends which provides the volunteers who manage and run the coffee shop on a day to day basis.
Wendy worked with the League to define and develop the initial concept and, most importantly, she fully understood the need to engage all the stakeholders in this joint endeavour. She worked well with everyone, volunteers, hospital managers and League officials and did so with considerable skill, good humour and unfailing professionalism. Her knowledge, contacts, excellent organisational ability and well developed people skills were invaluable in enabling us to design and operate a successful, high-end, modern outlet with 60 covers. Feedback from customers has been excellent with many comparing the coffee shop’s appearance, ambience and quality very favourably with those on the High Street.
